Man's best friend doesn't begin to describe the bond between Daniel and Lugar.  They were more like brothers. 
The love between them was evident if you ever saw them together.

August 29, 2008, "The two have never been separated and until this week, these two six footers would sleep side by side. 
At this very moment Lugar is sitting on that same bed waiting for Daniel to come home." 

While Lugar was a great dog, you could tell that he truly missed his "brother."  Whenever he heard a cars  door locking "double beep" sound
(like that of  Daniel's car), he'd head for the door with his tail wagging.  After awhile, without seeing Daniel, he'd slowly walk back and lay down.
